Frequently Asked Questions

Q.   How long is the Walk & Ride?
A.   Walkers and Runners will do a 2 mile course. Cyclists may select to ride 5, 10, or 15 miles. This is a non-competitive event.
     
Q.   How much does it cost to participate in the LIFELINE CHALLENGE TO HEALTHY LIVING ?
A.   Individuals must pay $25 to register to participate.
Families must pay $60 to participate.
Teams must pay $150 to register to participate.

However, we are asking all walkers & riders to raise as much money as possible from friends and family to help eliminate and prevent childhood obesity.
     
Q.   What happens if it rains?
A.   The event will take place rain or shine. Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation reserves the right to cancel LIFELINE CHALLENGE in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be NO refunds; registration fees will be used by CMMC to increase public awareness about the obesity epidemic.
     
Q.   How do I form a team?
A.   You must have a minimum of five people who are willing to participate with you the morning of the LIFELINE CHALLENGE. Team Registration costs $150, but we are encouraging all team members to raise as much money as possible to help eliminate and prevent childhood obesity.
     
Q.   Who is eligible to participate?
A.   All ages and levels may participate in all events. The waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian for children under the age of 18. Pets are not allowed on the course, but may be in the park if on a leash at all times.
     
Q.   How do I get my t-shirt and number?
A.   You will receive your t-shirt and number when you check-in for the event.
     
Q.   How do I get to Branch Brook Park?
A.   Driving directions to the Park are available on the Essex County Parks website. Please use the Heller Parkway entrance. NJ Transit and the Light Rail are also available to take you to the Park.
     
Q.   How can I volunteer to help with the LIFELINE CHALLENGE TO HEALTHY LIVING?
A.   There are many ways to volunteer. Before the event, you can help distribute brochures and/or flyers in your home town or place of work; you can submit an article (we will provide) for your work or school newspaper; you can add  LIFELINE CHALLENGE TO HEALTHY LIVING to your Facebook page and you can Evite people you know who are into physical fitness  and who want to make a difference!  We can also use volunteers the day of the event.
