LIFELINE Challenge to Healthy Living

Why We Walk and Ride

To Eliminate and Prevent Childhood Obesity

Walking

Obesity is a serious problem.  The number of obese children in the United States has increased threefold over the past thirty years.  Fifty percent of New Jersey’s residents are at risk of developing serious obesity related problems, such as diabetes, heart disease, joint and spine problems, and sleep apnea.  With your help, Clara Maass Medical Center’s LIFELINE CHALLENGE TO HEALTHY LIVING will fund school programs in Essex, Hudson, Bergen, and Passaic counties to empower children and their families to practice healthy eating and active lifestyles to prevent this epidemic in our communities.
