The “A Star is Born” wall is a public display, located in the main reception area of the Maternity Center, that commemorates the birth of those born at Clara Maass Medical Center (CMMC), Clara Maass Hospital, Lutheran Hospital, and Newark German Hospital.

Campaigns such as A Star is Born help fund pediatric programs and services aimed at easing the anxiety that children often suffer during visits to the hospital.  Some of these programs include:

• A certified Child Life Specialist to work with children and their families to educate kids about their experiences and help decrease stress that can accompany hospitalization.
  
  
• New flat screen televisions for all pediatric hospital rooms.
  
  
• New toys, DVDs, books, and games for the children’s playroom.
  
  
• New stuffed animals and toys for children to keep with them throughout their hospital stay and to take home.
  
  
• Renovations to the children’s playroom and Pediatric Unit.
